FORMER ironman champion Nathan Smith was greeted on Saturday by his two-year-old twins Montana and Andie as he climbed out of the water just moments after winning the annual Royal Challenge.
Smith completed the three-stage event — a 12.5-kilometre paddle to Audley Weir, a 21km run through the Royal National Park to Waterfall and back, and a 12.5km paddle to Gunnamatta Bay — in three hours and 18 minutes, to finish 14 minutes ahead of Matt Read.
Kimberley Fleming was the first female in four hours and six minutes.
The charity event raised $40,000 for KIDS Foundation.
