SYLVANVALE'S interim chief executive Alan Bish has paid tribute to his predecessor Jill Deering, who left the organisation last week.
Mr Bish, a former director and present board member of Sylvanvale, said her departure was a mutual decision.
"The board recognised her skill, contribution and effort, and the changes she made were much appreciated," he said.
"We wish her all the best for the future."
Mr Bish said he was proud to be leading the 66-year-old non-profit organisation and will remain interim chief executive until the board appoints someone permanently to the role.
"I'm honoured to have the confidence of the board to give me the responsibility to lead the organisation," he said.
"I put my hand up — I could give the time and they thought I was the best person for the role."
Ms Deering held the role for 16 months.
"I enjoyed my time at Sylvanvale and look forward to spending more time with my family," she said.
