Teen charged after Bexley club fire

Police have charged a teenager, 15, in relation to a suspicious fire at St George Bowling and Recreational Club Sunday morning.

Emergency Services teams were called to the abandoned club on Harrow Road, Bexley about 1.45am and found it well alight.

Residents from nearby units and houses were evacuated but no-one was injured.

Three males, aged 14, 15 and 19, were arrested at the scene and taken to St George Police Station.

The 15-year-old has since been charged with malicious damage and is due in court Monday.

The 14-year-old was given a youth caution and released. The 19-year-old was also released pending further inquiries.
