THERE will be snags, painted faces and tunes among the flag waving at Rockdale Council's Australia Day celebrations.
This year's main attraction is the vibrant community festival at Peter Depena Reserve, Dolls Point, from 8.15am.
Award-winning producer and presenter Greg Grainger, who is the council's Australia Day ambassador in 2014, will be there.
The day begins with an indigenous "welcome to country" by Koomurri Australia, and includes a national flag raising and citizenship ceremony.
Rockdale mayor Shane O'Brien will conduct the ceremony, which will welcome new Australian citizens to St George.
The Rockdale citizen of the year awards will also be announced.
Entertainment kicks off from 10am with party band Peppermint Jam.
There will be a free sausage sizzle from 9.45am until the snags run out.
Children's activities such as a free cartoon show, drumming workshop, face-painting and lamington workshops will be offered.
Rockdale Community Nursery and the council's mobile waste education unit will also be on display.
