SASY n Savy, the St George beauty brand that is stocked in some of the world's classiest shops, including London's Harrods, has opened its first stand-alone store.
The Apothecary Showroom in Port Hacking Road, Miranda, stocks the full range of Sasy n Savy products made with Australian native ingredients.
The brand is especially popular with international shoppers, many of whom arrive in Sydney and head straight for the showroom to stock up, said chief executive Samea Maakrun.
"About 80 per cent of our customers are from overseas," she said.
International buyers are especially taken with the benefits of vitamin C-rich Kakadu plum, a mainstay in many of the products.
Ms Maakrun said when she started the company it was hard to find commercial suppliers of some of the ingredients, especially as Kakadu plum grows only in Australia.
Using only Australian ingredients and ensuring products are made here is something she is proud of and also provides a unique selling point.
"We believe in supporting the community and supporting Australian farms," she said.
Customers in the showroom can watch workers create products, which Ms Maakrun said was part of the concept of the bright and airy space, which took her three years to find.
