Foundation club Carss Park FC is celebrating a super season with three grand final wins so far — and perhaps a fourth to come.
The St George Football Association club, formed in 1930, has its supporters cheering loudly, proudly waving the maroon and white flags at games during the finals series.
Carss Park FC has won three from four grand finals so far. The under-11Bs started the run, with a 2-0 nil over Connells Point.
The club snared the all-age double header with its all age A team winning 5-2 against Hurstville Glory, capping the all Age A reserve team winning 2-1,in extra-time against Ramsgate RSL.
The club’s minor premiers, all-age B reserve team lost 3-1 on penalties against Hurstville Glory after the teams were deadlocked after extra time.
The club’s all age women’s team is now into their third consecutive grand final this weekend, after a 2-0 win on Saturday in the final.
‘‘That’s three grand finals so far ,which is a record year for our club one to go,’’ said Carss Park FC publicity officer Penny Hancock. She said the club had 36 teams and 430 registered players.
