Former staff member Sue Swan said she wanted customers to know that she wished them well and wanted to say goodbye to them.
‘‘There were people who worked there up to 30 years and you got to know all the customers,’’ Mrs Swan said.
‘‘I think there would have been about 100 people working there including part-timers.’’
A Westfield Miranda spokeswoman said there was a mutual commercial agreement to end the lease.
A Coles supermarket will take part of the vacant space.
