Hurstville Council’s new mayor and deputy are Vince Badalati and Dominic Sin.
Both from the ALP side, they were elected at an extraordinary Council meeting on Wednesday, September 9.
Cr Badalati said he was looking forward to working closely with the other Hurstville councillors and the community during the next 12 months.
‘‘The Hurstville local government area is currently undergoing a great transformation with many key projects now underway including the Forest Road Streetscape Project Stage One and I am delighted to serve the Hurstville community,’’ he said.
‘‘Being Mayor at this time also has an additional focus as local government issues are of critical importance which include possibility of amalgamations across NSW councils.’’
Cr Badalati said that in the next 12 months, the council would continue with significant capital works projects and keep improving community facilities, renewing assets, delivering services alongside prudent financial management.
Cr Sin said he was proud to be elected deputy mayor and would work diligently over the next year to further improve the vibrant city. See more in Tuesday’s Leader.
