Nickolas Varvaris was re-elected as Kogarah mayor last night.
Cr Varvaris was elected without opposition, having recently lead the Liberal party to a six-seat landslide in local government elections.
Michael Platt, a Labor councillor and former mayor, was the sole nominee for the deputy mayor role.
He will replace Labor colleague Jacinta Petroni in the position.
