Georges River Council will install more than $200,000 of extra flood lighting at five sporting fields across the region.
Administrator John Rayner said the extra lighting will be installed at Gifford Park, Riverwood Park, Olds Park, Carss Park Sports Fields and Harold Fraser Oval.
“The additional flood lighting will improve substandard areas of lighting and will improve visibility for park patrons within the sports fields and their vicinity,’’ he said.
“Our parks are well patronised and it is important that council continues to provide and contribute towards facilities that benefit our whole community”.
The project is funded through council’s infrastructure plus program, development contributions, and an $18,000 grant from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Program.
