The popular school film festival Film by the Sea is back for another year.
Miranda Public School is again involved in the event, with pupils gearing up to grace the silver screen.
The annual short film festival on October 26-27 is at Sutherland Entertainment Centre and Bankstown Sports Club.
The first festival was launched in 2011 in the Shire, and has grown to attract schools from across NSW and overseas in Canada.
One of Australia’s best known actors, producers and directors, Bryan Brown, is a patron of the festival.
The aim of the festival is to encourage children to learn through visual literacy – a core element in the NSW English syllabus.
Through film studies and film-making, students learn collaborative and problem-solving skills while gaining valuable knowledge of the digital world.
