Body found in search for missing fisherman washed off rocks at Kurnell
The body of a man has been found this afternoon after a rock fisherman went missing off Kurnell.
About 1.10pm police were called to Cape Solander, after reports a man aged in his 50s was swept into the ocean while fishing off rocks.
A search involving officers from Miranda police, Surf Life Saving and Marine Area Command was launched and at around 4.30pm, the body of a man was found in the water near Cape Solander.
While there has been no formal identification, the body is believed to be that of the missing man.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
