A new art exhibition at Rockdale Library will feature artwork from Sylvanvale clients as part of International Day of People with Disability.
Art and Us will be launched on Friday and run until January 5.
It will feature artworks created by Sylvanvale’s Art with Heart artists and also by children at Sylvanvale’s Mikarie Child Care Centre.
Art with Heart is an art therapy initiative launched in 2015 which uses the creative process of making art to improve a person’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Mikarie Child Care Centre is a purpose-built long day care centre for children of all abilities.
Sylvanvale Executive General Manager of Customer and Community Relations Cathy Quinn said she was excited about the partnership.
“We are very excited about our Art and Us exhibition and delighted that it will be on display at the beautiful new Rockdale Library,’’ she said.
