Teen arrested during group confrontation at Menai shopping centre
A Blacktown teenager, 13, has been charged over an incident at a Menai shopping centre on Monday.
Sutherland police were called just after 3pm after a group of 20 young people went to the centre after the teenager stole a scooter from a younger boy.
Police said a knife was also stolen from a nearby supermarket but was not used.
Officers found the teen in nearby bush after he fled.
He was arrested and taken to Sutherland police station where he was charged with two counts of stealing.
He is due to appear in Bidura Children's Court on February 13.
Police said further charges are possible.
