The Prince hotel at Kirrawee had an “awesome’ opening, thanks partly to the event coinciding with what is being described as “the best Super Bowl ever”.
Feros Hotels Group chief executive Chris Feros said the launch on Monday of the new establishment on Princes Highway, Kirrawee, couldn’t have gone better.
“It was awesome, and exceeded our expectations,” he said.
“By 10.15am the public bar was full, with a lot of people coming in to watch the Super Bowl.
“The atmosphere in the bar was incredible.
“The rest of the day was just as good, and at night we were full.”
Mr Feros said management estimated more than 1000 people walked through the doors on the first day.
“A lot of people came up to say how good it was and thank us,” he said.
Mr Feros said social media comments football jerseys were not allowed were incorrect. “We love seeing footy jumpers about,” he said.
Mr Feros said features of the hotel included high quality finishes, high raked ceilings, two double sided fireplaces and a grill that opens out on to the courtyard (beer garden).
“We think the very large, open, earthy, green courtyard will create an enormous atmosphere,” he said.
Mr Feros said The Prince catered for all ages, and the family facilities were a new concept.
”Traditional pubs have a children’s room, but this hotel has an area like a park with picnic tables and fake grass,” he said.
“Mum and dad can sit in it and have a drink while the kids play around them.”
