It has been a busy time for Harrison Crowe but the Bexley golfer is taking it all in his stride.
It has been a blistering start to 2017 for Harrison, who won the Tasmanian Junior Masters at Riverside Golf Club last month with rounds of 70, 66 and 76 – a 54-hole total of 212 (-4).
Harrison had flown to Tasmanian with a Jack Newton Junior Golf team to compete in two tournaments, the first being the Boys Tamar Valley Cup played at Greens Beach Golf Club, a 72 hole event played over three days.
Harrison, a member at Bardwell Valley and St Michael’s golf clubs, finished runner-up after a final round 69 to give him a confidence boost heading into the junior Masters.
The 15-year-old ended last year in the same sort of form, finishing fourth at the Bonville Champions Trophy in early December. It was a vast improvement for Harrison, who failed to make the cut at the event in 2015.
Harrison then qualified for the Faldo Series grand final invitational in Vietnam in March with his performance at the Castle Hill qualifying event.
The scratch marker finished equal second in the 21-years-and-under division and won the 16-years age group by two shots.
Before heading to Tasmania, Harrison led for the first three rounds at the Harvey Norman Junior Week of Golf at Pennant Hills after shooting five under before finishing sixth in the boys under-18s championship.
Harrison then enjoyed another runner up finish at the Golf South Australia junior amateur championship with a score of 212 for the 72-hole event, held over two days.
Harrison’s big three months have seen him now ranked in the top 40 boys in Australia and earn a World Amateur Golf ranking.
His recent success follows on from an outstanding 2016 where he won the All Schools Championship at Tamworth in June, finished third at the Combined High Schools tournament in Taree in May and finished in a tie for second at the State Age.
