The pre-WWII Vintage Car & Bike Show is back – and this year there’s an added drawcard.
During the show a vintage electric train nicknamed the ‘‘Red Rattler’’ will make four return shuttles from Cronulla train station to Sutherland and back.
The popular annual event will also feature more than 40 pre-WWII vintage cars and motorbikes, vintage buses, kids’ activities, stalls, music, food and more.
The car and bike show is presented by Cronulla Rotary and is a major event on Sylvanvale’s fundraising calendar.
Event director Ken Warburton has a strong connection with Sylvanvale as his mother and father helped established the organisation in 1947.
Today, Sylvanvale supports more than 750 people with a disability across Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
Transport Heritage NSW will be operating the shuttles on the ‘‘Red Rattler’’.
A chance meeting between Ken Warburton and local resident, Howard Collins, CEO of Sydney Trains, led to the addition of the vintage electric train.
‘‘I’m thrilled that Transport Heritage NSW is showing their support and raising the show’s profile even more by running shuttles on the Red Rattler,’’ said Ken.
The Vintage Car & Bike Show will be held Sunday, March 19 from 9am to 4pm in Cronulla Plaza.
Bookings for the ‘Red Rattler’ shuttles are essential.
