The all-you-can-eat salad bar and cheesy toast will soon be no more with news that Sizzler at Kogarah will close its doors.
It will be a blow to many 90s families who hold fond memories of the endless desert toppings and signature toast.
The restaurant chain confirmed it will close its St George store.
A sign at the Kogarah restaurant was spotted by diners earlier this week.
‘’Thank you for your patronage over the last 29 years,’’ the sign read.
‘’Unfortunately our Sizzler St George restaurant will close after trade on Sunday, April 9.’’
While the Kogarah store wasn’t in the firing line the company said it would not pour any more money into the business.
With the Kogarah closure the only remaining Sizzler in New South Wales would be in Campbelltown.
There are still several restaurants in Queensland and Western Australia.
Sizzler launched in California in 1958 and its first Australian restaurant opened in 1985.
A Collins Foods Limited spokesman said they chose not to renew an expiring lease.
“Sizzler St George staff and management have done a fantastic job delivering a great dining experience to our customers every day,” he said.
“We thank them and also our St George customers who we look forward to welcoming to our Campbelltown restaurant soon.”
Affected staff are being supported with outplacement assistance and a job search program.
