Premier Gladys Berejiklian will hear views on housing affordability in Sutherland Shire when she attends a forum at Menai tonight (Thursday).
More than 60 residents and other stakeholders have been invited to the event at Club Central.
The forum is not open to the general public, but community groups will be represented.
There will be representatives from a wide range of groups, from churches, charities and community organisations to real estate agents, banks, developers, community housing providers and Sutherland Shire Council.
Heathcote MP Lee Evans organised the forum after approaching Ms Berejiklian in March.
Mr Evans said, while the Premier would speak at the meeting, she mainly wanted to listen to the views of those present.
“The Premier wants to hear about the impact of housing affordability locally and ideas for possible policy measures to assist people to own their own home,” he said.
Ms Berejiklian said after becoming Premier she would make it a priority to make housing more affordable in NSW.
Planning Minister Anthony Roberts will also attend the forum.
