Former Central Coast Mariners captain Nick Montgomery made his debut for Wollongong but Rockdale City were unable to spoil the party, going down 2-0 to the Wolves on Sunday.

The defeat, the Suns’ second in a row, saw them slip to fourth as former Japan international striker Yuzo Tashiro scored both Wollongong’s goals at WIN Stadium.

Wolves coach Jacob Timpano was delighted with the result as Wollongong avoided a third-straight defeat.

”It is good to turn it around from last week, we deserved the win," he said.

"We had the better chances and our strikers were clinical."

Kick-off is at 5pm.
