The game day experience at Olds Park has been revolutionized for the St George Australian Football Club thanks to upgrades funded through NSW Government sporting grants.
Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres and Member for Oatley Mark Coure joined St George Committee members to inspect upgraded facilities which were sorely needed.
“Key facilities at Olds Park have received a $335.000 makeover of significant proportions including resurfacing the grounds and up grading the clubhouse which will benefit all members of St George AFC” Mr Ayres said.
Member for Oatley Mark Coure said the NSW Government had invested over $3.5 million in 650 local sport projects across the state.
“I am proud to have been able to secure this funding from the minister in recognition of the hard work,leadership and vision of the club and look forward to years of competition ahead” Mr Coure said.
President of the St George AFL Brendan Donohue said players are thrilled with the work and said funding has allowed us to create a safe and fantastic sporting facility that can be used by the whole community.
“This is a great win for residents of the St George area.The newly upgraded Old Park will be better for both players and spectators”
