A Kareela house has been damaged after a serious fire on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to Kendall Place just after 8:15am after smoke was seen billowing from the house.
Residents had already evacuated from the house before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters from Miranda, Sutherland, Kogarah, Cronulla, Menai and Engadine battled the blaze before it was contained at 9am.
They remained on scene until just after 11am for the salvage operation.
A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman said initial reports suggested the fire might have started in the bedroom.
The fire was captured on video by neighbours who watched on in horror as smoke cloaked the street.
