Cronulla and St George Illawarra will provide five players between them to this year’s Australian Schoolboys team.
A squad of 17 of the best under-18s players from around the country have been chosen to play a two test series against the Kiwis in September.
The Australia side was chosen from the national school’s carnival held at St Mary’s Sports Stadium earlier this month.
Cronulla’s Endeavour Sports High trio of Teig Wilton, Dylan Smith and Bronson Xerri were selected alongside Aquinas College, Menai’s James Roumanos.
St George Illawarra’s Zac Lomax joined the Sharks quartet. Lomax is in his first season with the young Dragons and retains his place after being named in the Australia Schoolboys team last year.
Lomax was named player of the final in NSW Combined High Schools’ 41-10 win over NSW Combined Catholic Colleges, while Xerri was named player of the championships.
Xerri scored two tries in the final, while Smith also crossed for a four-pointer in the 31-point victory.
The Sharks quartet were members of Cronulla’s SG Ball team beaten in the grand final by Parramatta earlier this year.
Australia face New Zealand in the first Test in Rotorua on September 26, with the second Test in Auckland on September 30.
Cronulla juniors Douglas Levi and Blake Hosking were also named in the Australia Schoolboys under-15s merit team.
