Earning one million points playing arcade games is not an easy feat, requiring persistence and dedication, but gamer Shenyao Guo showed this only recently at Playtime Miranda.
Playtime has 16 venues across Australia offering more than 1000 simulated arcade games ranging from Star Wars to Minions to Jurassic Park enabling users to win prizes playing their favourite arcade games.
Mr Guo, 22, from Kensington, had the opportunity to take home a platinum prize from the winner’s vault for his arcade achievements, the first person nationally to do so.
The vault contains prizes including an iPad, laptop or playstation 4, but for Guo it wasn’t even a question of what to take home, the allure of a red Vespa scooter proving too good not to take.
“I love playing arcade games, and spend a lot of my free time honing my gaming skills and collecting points,” Mr Guo said.
“I never expected to earn this kind of prize from my hobby”.
Mr Guo, who has been playing at Playtime for 2.5 years, said his favourite games are Crossy Road and Flying Tickets.
He is currently the Playtime record holder for the most points earned at the gaming arcade with more than one million points on his Playtime card.
