Anne Helen Donnelly has found success as a children’s author after changing careers two years ago.
She was working as the Clinical Group Manager for Surgery and Cancer services at St George and Sutherland Hospitals when she took a redundancy in December 2015.
That sparked the idea for a career change and she has since written and illustrated a children’s book.
Ori the Octopus was released in April with a second book, Ori’s Christmas, due out in October.
To celebrate a reading will be held at Hurstville Library on August 10 followed by a reading at Kogarah Library on August 11.
The readings are free and will include reading, storytelling, singing and dancing for the little ones.
