Oatley’s Angus Mullins has won a top award for his involvement in musical theatre.
The Waverley College Year 12 student recently won an Archbishop of Sydney Award for Student Excellence – one of 49 given out this year to outstanding students from Catholic secondary schools across Sydney.
Angus was recognised for his musical contribution and keen participation in social justice initiatives.
He is a vital member of the Waverley College choir and has performed in school musicals Aida, Grease and High School Musical.
He has also taken part in the Bowling with the Disabled program, advocated for domestic violence awareness, and raised funds for RUOK Day.
Angus said receiving the award was a huge honour.
“It celebrates the values that are most important to me and I am very humbled and grateful to have been nominated”
Waverley College head of school Graham Leddie said: “We are so proud of Angus’ contributions and to see them recognised with this award. He has demonstrated notable dedication, compassion, generosity and excellence in his endeavours.”
Waverley College is a Catholic school for boys.
