An investigation is underway after a man was stabbed in Sutherland.
Police have been told that just before 2am on Sunday, the man and two women were walking to a garden on Stapleton Avenue, when they were approached by a group of males.
The group of males assaulted the man, before stabbing him and fleeing the scene.
The 33-year-old man presented at Sutherland Police Station with multiple stab wounds to his torso.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the man before he was taken to St George Hospital in a serious condition.
Officers from Sutherland Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
