Visitor hours are being extended at Sutherland Hospital.
From Monday, October 9, visitor hours will be changed to 8am to 8pm (for all wards and units) and 12pm to 8pm (Intensive Care Unit and High Dependency Unit).
The former visitor hours were 10am to 1pm and 3.30pm to 8pm for all wards and units, and 12pm to 1pm and 3.30pm to 8pm for the ICU and HDU.
Sutherland Hospital acting general manager Vanessa Madunic said the extended hours would better cater for patients, families and carers.
”We believe the new visiting times provide relatives and carers greater flexibility in being able to manage their family and work commitments, along with caring for a loved one who is in hospital.
“Nurses will be able to advise visitors if the patient requires rest and the needs of all patients will be monitored.
“The change in hours will be reviewed after three months and if required will be adjusted based on feedback from staff and patients.”
Sutherland Hospital is located in Caringbah.
