The Guild Theatre in Rockdale will bring their latest production to the stage- this time with a high-flying theme.
Boeing Boeing follows Bernard- a young, savvy Parisian playboy who is engaged simultaneously to three gorgeous airline hostesses.
Each woman is completely unaware of each other thanks to their accommodating flight schedules and Bernard’s exasperated butler Maurice.
It also leaves his old friend Robert amazed.
His perfectly arranged plans go awry thanks to flight cancellations and a new faster Boeing Caravelle jet throwing his escapades into turmoil.
Director Susan Stapleton was drawn to the French play after actor Mark Rylance won a Best Actor award for his role in 2008.
“I think you will understand when you see all the elements of a farce so beautifully and satisfyingly brought out by the writer,’’ she said.
‘’The enticing set up of a pompous, manipulative lothario who is completely secure at the centre of his own universe is quite outrageous.
‘’We can’t help but desire his downfall, but how will this happen and who will come out on top?”
Nathan Farrow plays Bernard while Robert is played by Daniel Cawthorne.
Akshay Bharde plays Maurice- his first role onstage since moving to Australia.
Rosemary Ghazi, Catilin Gleeson and Donna Randall, play the hapless airhostesses.
