Menopause the Musical - Women on Fire! returns to Hurstville Entertainment Centre this month with classic tunes from the '60s, '70s and '80s.
Menopause The Musical follows the story of four women who have nothing in common but the black lace bra they want to buy at a lingerie sale.
There is a housewife from Dubbo, a professional woman, an earth mother and a soap star.
While they come from different backgrounds, they discover they have a lot in common including memory loss, night sweats, hot flushes, too much sex, not enough sex and much more.
They find they are able to poke fun of their woeful hot flushes, wrinkles, night sweats, and chocolate binges.
A sisterhood is created between them, and a wonderful musical that features popular tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s is born.
Sub-titled Women on Fire, this new production features new songs, new dance routines and new gags in a 90-minute production which will finish with the audience dancing with the stars or busking in the aisles.
Based on the original book and lyrics by Jeanie Linders, this new production features new songs, dance routines and jokes.
The show stars Victoria Nicolls as the Dubbo housewife, Melanie Evans as the professional woman, Meg Kiddle as the earth mother and Lilias Davie as the soap star.
The original Menopause The Musical debuted in Melbourne in 2005 for a six-week season which was extended to six months.
The show then went on to tour other capital cities for five years and was seen by 980,000 theatre goers across the country.
Worldwide, it has been seen by 11 million people since it first opened in Florida, USA, in 2001.
Menopause The Musical will be showing at the Marana auditorium, Hurstville Entertainment Centre on Thursday, November 16 at 7.30pm.
Tickets are $45.
