They’re not shelfish at the Banksia Bistro.
They like to share, and on Saturday, November 18, Colin Fassnidge and chef Leigh McDivitt are inviting St George residents down for a good old crab cook-up.
The Banksia Bistro will host a Baltimore Crab Feast modelled on traditions from Maryland in the United States where steamed blue crab is a signature dish.
During a crab feast, you probably will be sitting elbow-to-elbow with friends, family and even strangers and you’ll be equipped with various mallets and knives.
From 2pm diners will be able to roll their sleeves up and get their hands dirty with the bistro’s Old Bay seasoned, steamed Blue swimmer crab with enough sides to sink a boat.
Served up on a long table along with corn on the cobb, slaw and cheese burgers, an American ale and some knee slappin country music in the background - all that’s needed for a finger lickin good afternoon is your appetite.
