Paul Gallen extended his unbeaten professional boxing record with a unanimous points decision over Puna Rasaubale at Sharks Leagues Club on Friday night.
The Cronulla Sharks skipper moved to 8-0 in front of a capacity crowd of almost 800, with Gallen managing to get the better of his capable opponent to score a deserved win on points from the three judges.
Rasaubale, a Commonwealth Games representative for Fiji, gave Gallen what was arguably the toughest fight of his career with the bout going a bruising six rounds.
The Gallen-Rasaubale heavyweight main event was the final bout on an impressive card which also saw Kye MacKenzie defeat Kiwi Nort Beauchamp over 10 rounds for the interim WBO Asia Pacific lightweight title.
Cronulla-Caringbah walked away with the $3,500 prize after beating De La Salle in the final of the local footy club challenge, which brought together five Cronulla District Junior League clubs.
The amateur fighters trained under the guidance of Ryan Waters at Southside Boxing to help prepare for the night.
