Re ‘‘Clearway plan condemned’’ (Leader, November 29).
Funny how it's deemed necessary for Taren Point Road but not for Rocky Point Road from the bridge through to Princes Hwy.
Once you pass through Sans Souci it goes down to 2 lanes with only a clearway morning one side afternoon the other! Go figure.
Where is the logic in that. Where does all our traffic go once it goes over the bridge as it's not causing a problem there? Must just disappear into thin air!
They only did data collection in one spot near Gawley/Good guys. After all the traffic feeds in from Captain Cook Drive/The Boulevard and Parraweena road.
Good way to stack the numbers in RMS favour.
Just would like to have a fair and impartial decision - no consultation with residents - business owners were ignored too.
RMS said the requirement is 800 cars per lane per hour in both directions. Really?
I think not - especially between Captain Cook Drive and The Kingsway.
All the residents have put in their objections. Now we have to wait.

Council could eat into the massive wide street frontages they are standing infront of in the photo and add parking bays.

I thought they'd start it from Endeavour High. I've never found the traffic too bad up that end. Oh, and please extend through Brighton (it's the bottle neck of all bottle necks on a sunny Saturday).

Shire folk need to realise this will become the norm , even for small streets . Once all these developments are complete clear ways will be the only way to have traffic move around the shire.
