Relatives have unleashed a string of profanities at Gavin John De Beyer following his NSW Supreme Court sentence for the stabbing murder of his wife.
De Beyer smiled after people in the public gallery started swearing at him and said "see you in 2035", referring to the date he will be eligible for parole after 19 years in prison.
A jury in June found De Beyer guilty of murdering his partner of 30 years, Sharon Louise Michelutti, while he was subject to an apprehended violence order for her protection.
Acting Justice Peter Hidden on Thursday sentenced him to a maximum of 25 years in jail and a non-parole period of 19 years for killing her in February of last year at their Riverwood home.
De Beyer, now 52, tried to claim his wife had killed herself by jumping on a knife.
However, police found Ms Michelutti's phone had been used to dial triple zero that morning but had not connected.
The Crown at De Beyer's trial argued the only explanation for the call was that it was made by Ms Michelutti.
The evidence was consistent with the call failing as the phone was taken from Ms Michelutti before she was stabbed, crown prosecutor Ken McKay told the jury.
