Many people were stopped and searched during a police blitz on anti-social behaviour on trains and stations between Cronulla, Sutherland and Wolli Creek on Sunday.
A police spokesman said three people were arrested for drug possession and stealing, numerous people where stopped and searched, and more than 30 “move on” directions where issued to people loitering around the stations.
The “high visibility operation” was conducted between 2pm and 10pm by officers of the Police Transport Command.
“Officers issued 58 transport infringements and issued a criminal infringement notice for offensive language in Cronulla mall,” the spokesman said.
“More than 20 trains were patrolled and 18 railway stations where visited by officers across the afternoon and into the evening.
“With the warmer weather approaching and the festive season upon us we can expect officers from the Police Transport Command to be out in force.”
