An Engadine man has won more than $3.9 million after taking out the division one prize in Saturday Lotto.
He was the only division one winner across Australia after buying his winning ticket from Engadine Newsagency.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he was overwhelmed with the win.
“It’s all a bit of a blur really. It’s just unbelievable. Fantastic. Life changing mate, life changing,’’ he said.
“I checked my ticket and had a look at what the numbers were. I circled six numbers and thought ‘oh my god.
“I saw there was only one winner. I ran to my wife and asked her to check it and she said ‘oh my god, you’re the only winner.
“We were pretty numb yesterday. Quite an extraordinary day! We didn’t know what to feel.’’
He already has plans on how to use the money.
“We’re going to put it in our bank account for the time being, but we’d love to do some home renovations,” he said.
“More than $3.9 million gives us a huge boost and it’s going to be great.’’
Engadine Newsagency owner Geoff Paton described the win as fantastic.
“It’s always exciting when one of our customers wins. Engadine is a close community so it’s great it was a local man,’’ he said.
“To get the full division one prize pool of almost $4 million is unusual. It’s an unbelievable win.’’
