Brighton-Le-Sands’ Michael Skoulis has won $5000 after topping his business course run by University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
UTS Insearch courses are a pathway into UTS and help prepare students to succeed at the university.
Mr Skoulis, 23, achieved the highest mark in his Diploma of Business class.
He was awarded with a $5000 prize for being the Outstanding Graduate in Business, presented during a graduation ceremony this month.
Next year, Mr Skoulis will jump straight into his second year of a Bachelor of Business in Finance at UTS.
Each year, UTS Insearch offers more than $210,000 in prizes to recognise the success of its students and reward their academic achievements.
Mr Skoulis is now planning his second career.
He originally followed a family tradition becoming an electrician, before turning his attention to the business world.
“I want to work as a banker or actuary – I like statistics.”
He also hopes to run his own business one day. He said he was rapt to receive an award through UTS Insearch.
“I feel my attitude of continuous improvement towards my studies really paid off, and UTS Insearch really set me up for success. The teachers have a zest for life and learning which I found contagious.”
