A crime scene has been established at a home in Gymea after a hydroponic cannabis crop as discovered overnight.
Fire and Rescue NSW officers discovered a large-scale enhanced hydroponic cannabis setup when they were called to a home on Milburn Road, Gymea, after smoke was seen coming from the building about 10.30pm on Friday.
Fire fighters entered the building but were unable to locate a fire; they withdrew from the building until the electricity authority disconnected power to the site.
Once the house was rendered safe, police examined the scene and confirmed an extensive cannabis crop was being grown indoors.
A guard remains in place overnight until scene of crime officers can attend later this morning. Once examined, an estimated value of the crop will be made.
