A new multi-million dollar adventure playground at Mortdale is now open for the community to enjoy.
Georges River Council Mayor Kevin Greene said Jubilee Park Adventure Playground is a significant new community asset that everyone can use.
“The new adventure playground has revitalised Jubilee Park and complements the existing Mortdale Community Centre,” Mayor Greene said.
The playground has a new children’s bike track, junior swings, flying foxes and multi-purpose sports courts.
“There are also new picnic and BBQ areas, a walking track, outdoor gym equipment and new seating areas – this new playground has something for everyone,” Cr Greene said.
Mayor Greene said the completion of the project was another example of Georges River Council’s continued efforts to deliver first-class facilities to the community.
“The Georges River area is known for its fantastic green spaces and parks,” he said.
“By providing upgrades and improvements to existing spaces such as this one, council ensures the local area continues to be recognised for them.”
Council will officially open the new adventure playground next month.
More than $2.5 million in funding was allocated to the construction of the new Jubilee Park Adventure Playground. Of this funding, more than $1.6 million was allocated from the Hurstville Section 94 Development Contributions Plan 2012.
