Children and the elderly will be among those who will benefit from a new service van.
Kogarah Community Services welcomed new wheels to its organisation this year.
The van will enable the community to travel safely and in comfort to and from the non-profit centre, which provides aged and childcare services, plus other community engagement programs.
Kogarah Community Services hosts social and walking groups, and a newly established choir.
These activities enables older residents to stay connected to their community.
Funding for the van was made available with assistance from the federal government’s stronger communities program grant.
The Kogarah service will also use the van to take younger clients from its after-school care program to an event its hosting – One Billion Rising, an open air dance festival saying ‘no’ to violence against women, at Kogarah Town Square on February 9.
