It’s time for Sutherland Shire residents to clean out their unwanted chemicals.
Sutherland Shire Council will hold its free household chemical collection over three days starting this Saturday.
Paint, pesticides and herbicides, poisons, motor oils, fuels and fluids, household and car batteries, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, oils, pool chemicals, acids and alkalis, hobby chemicals, smoke alarms, solvents and household cleaners, ammonia based cleaners, and fluorescent globes and tubes will all be accepted.
Only household quantities accepted, up to a maximum of 20 litres or 20 kilograms container size.
Residents should ensure their chemicals are transporting safely, in labelled and well-sealed containers and placed in plastic bags.
Household chemicals should be kept away from passengers. Chemicals should be transported in the boot of the car.
Residents can drop-off their unwanted chemicals at the Bellingara Netball Centre Car Park, 99 - 105 Bellingara Road, Miranda on Saturday, February 10 to Monday, February 12, 9am to 3.30pm.
