It is all about girl power in Sutherland Shire on a global day of female recognition this year.
To mark International Womens Day (March 8), ladies from all walks of life will gather to promote a key message to their fellow ‘sisters’ – be confident and take action.
In celebration of the theme ‘press for progress’, a group of women have formed a collective of businesses , and are advocating for the ongoing promotion of female opportunity.
The event aims to help women re-enter the workforce after having children, start a business or land a job promotion.
One of the event organisers, Pip Rae, who is passionate about helping women combat inequality said she noticed a gap in the community for women.
“We noticed there were no local events celebrating International Women’s Day that felt inclusive for all women,” she said.
“The theme of our event is to celebrate women through inspiration and motivation via shared experience.
“It’s about taking chances.”
The event is on from 5.30pm – 10pm, March 8, at Cronulla Golf Club.
Tickets start from $47.
