3Bridges Community chief executive officer Rosemary Bishop has been named the Oatley electorate’s 2018 Local Woman.

She has received the award in recognition of her dedication and hard work in the St George community, Oatley Mark Coure MP said.

Ms Bishop’s commitment to bringing positive change to the local area made her an outstanding candidate, Mr Coure said.

Ms Bishop has a background of working in the not-for-profit sector, bringing a wealth of experience to her current role at 3Bridges Community.

Ms Bishop’s outstanding leadership ensures the organisation’s mission continues to flourish. 3Bridges Community is dedicated to supporting the local community through a variety of services for children, young people, families and seniors.

Minister for Women Tanya Davies said the NSW Women of the Year Local Awards celebrate the contributions and successes of women who are often quiet achievers.

“The Local Awards are designed to acknowledge women who are making a significant impact in the places where we live and work, and in the lives of people around them. Local award winners exemplify the spirit of their communities,” Mrs Davies said.

Ms Bishop attended the 2018 NSW Women of the Year Awards ceremony in Sydney on International Women’s Day, March 8 with Mr Coure and NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian.

Statewide Award winners, as voted by the public, were announced at the Awards ceremony this morning.
