Street racing fears
I am writing to complain about the instances of street racing. They are becoming a more and more common nightly occurrence making it impossible for my elderly mother (who suffers from dementia) to have a good night’s sleep. Saturday nights are the worst. Something needs to be done about this or someone will be hurt or even killed.

Tagging is not art
Thank you to Sutherland Shire Council, artists and volunteers who have helped beautify the Caringbah shopping area. Isn’t it a shame though that the graffiti vandals who are doing all this damage are not being apprehended and face fines and or imprisonment. To these tag vandals, get a day job so you will sleep at night like the rest of us.

Driveway blocked
Today I was told several times to “get f----d” by a worker on the building site opposite when I tried to get whoever parked their work vehicle across my driveway to move it. Someone, not the person who swore at me, did move his vehicle when I started to ring council. The parking issue has been ongoing for more than a year. It is a pity I can’t email a photo of the offending vehicle blocking driveway access with the number plate visible to council.

Rockdale Park ecosystem
Re the article ‘‘Water feature bill surge to $600,000” (Leader, March 7). Rockdale Park should be an inspiration for Bayside Council to commit to actively caring for the environment, mitigate future risks - climate change - and create a buffer to sustain Rockdale Park for our future. Climate warming increased temperatures 0.9 degrees over 20 years [University of Melbourne].This difference may read small but can have a devastating effect on our future. The integration of this water feature into a sustainable ecosystem is a must. The inclusion of wetland plants is only the start.
