What is the point of having building regulations when the council hands responsibility to private certifiers and nothing can be done to complain about infringement of regulations?
The property next door to me has been under development for more than 15 months.
One of the requirements of the DA is that there is to be no work outside the hours of 8am to 3.30pm on Saturdays.This Saturday I was awoken by heavy machinery at 6.50am.
I protested and the builder stopped until 7.15am and then it was open slather. He couldn’t care less, knowing that nothing can be done when no government authority has the power.
Work continued noisily until 5.30pm.
