Sutherland Hockey Club will send a quintet of talented juniors to the under-15s national championships after they were selected to represent NSW.
Kendelle Tait will play for the NSW girls team while club mates Daniel Byrant, Angus Callinan, Zak Keelan and Kian Johnson will represent the boys team in Wollongong starting on Tuesday.
It will be the third time Kendelle has represented NSW at national level with her recent success coming as no surprise to those around her given her strong family links to the sport.
Kendelle’s dad, Peter, is Sutherland’s Sydney Premier Hockey League first grade coach who represented NSW as a player as well as winning two Sydney premierships with Sutherland.
“Kendelle possesses many of the attributes required to go much further but more importantly she has a great attitude and a passion for the game and she deserves her success,” Peter said.
