St George Private Hospital has eight openings available for student nurse placements.

The opportunity is targeted for people interested in a nursing career within the private healthcare system.

The placement consists of three days per week. It enables students to continue working part-time while on placement.

Ramsay Health Care offers longer placements compared to the public system. Students have the same facilitator for each placement.

They also have the opportunity to request a placement in a ward of interest, and are given days in maternity, mental health, in the operating theatre and recovery.

Student placement coordinator, Jennifer Willett, says the hospital has a strong commitment to mentoring the next generation of health professionals.

“Our focus on hands-on learning throughout the 400 hours of a student’s clinical placement which provides them with confidence in their everyday interactions with patients,” she said.
