The Men of League Foundation will host a function to honour five St George legends.
The theme of the event is a “tribute to Chook, Gaz, Chang, Sticks and Billy” and will be held at the St George Leagues Club on May 4.
Billy Smith will be in attendance as the foundation reminisce about some of rugby league’s greatest players in John Raper, Reg Gasnier, Norm Provan and Graeme Langlands.
Arthur Summons, Johnny Riley, John King, Johnny Greaves and Ted Goodwin will be special guests along with representatives from the Proven and Raper families.
The luncheon, with Steve Edge as the MC, starts at noon.
The foundation, formed in 2002, provides support and assistance to men, women and children from the rugby league community who have fallen on hard times and is considered one of the largest sports-based charities in the world.
