Family and friends of a young boy who tragically lost his life at Oatley will gather for his funeral today, April 26.
Alex Raichman, 11, who was severely autistic, was hit by a train on April 22 after he ran from a short-term accommodation facility for children.
He was described as a treasured son, grandson, brother and special friend on Sydney Friendship Circle – a Facebook page dedicated to supporting families with children with disabilities.
“The world lost a beautiful angel under the most tragic circumstances,” the online community stated.
“As we try to process this tremendous loss, your beautiful life flashes in front of us.
“Alex’s mischievous personality and smile, joy in his eyes, sense of adventure, beautiful smile, and curiosity about the smallest creations will always be remembered.
“He had a zest for life that is admired by all who knew him.”
More than $45,000 has been raised so far for Alex’s parents – Sharon Braverman and Dale Raichman, and twin brother Samuel, who reportedly live at Rockdale.
“All who knew and loved Alex are welcome to join us today to say goodbye to our beautiful, precious boy,” the fundraising page stated.
Alex’s funeral is at 2pm at Chevra Kadisha, Woollahra, followed by a memorial at Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park, Matraville.
