Support: Former NSW police commissioner, Andrew Scipione, at a community sleep out event to raise money for domestic violence prevention.
Armed with snacks and with trackies on, former police chief commissioner Andrew Scipione ‘roughed’ it for one night in support of a charity that supports domestic violence victims.
The annual Sleeping Rough fundraiser was hosted by Club Rivers and organised by Georges River Life Care Centre at Peakhurst.
More than 40 people gave up their warm beds for a less cosy yet charitable cause on April 19, sleeping on concrete in a car park.
More than $24,000 was raised – exceeding the $20,000 goal.
